Abubakar Sadiq Kasum is a Professor in the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria.  He holds B. Sc. Accounting (Bayero University, Kano) and M. Sc. Accounting & PhD. Accounting and Finance (University of Ilorin, Ilorin) Degrees. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Associate of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Certified Valuation Analyst of NACVA, USA. He has more than two decades of teaching, research and administrative experience with the University.

Abubakar has served as level adviser, Coordinator of Diploma Programme, Coordinator of Department of Accounting, Head of Department of Accounting, Deputy Director of Technical and Entrepreneurship Center, Founder and Editor of Ilorin Journal of Accounting and Board Member of Uniloring GGMAX Farm.

Prof. Kasum has Edited two books and published more than 40 articles in Journals, Books and Conference Proceedings, across national and international outlets. He has supervised more than twenty Masters dissertations, two PhDs thesis and over a hundred undergraduate projects. His research interests cover financial reporting, taxation, corporate social responsibility, fraud investigation, management accounting, corporate governance and CSR
