Philosophy

Our philosophy is to train and help develop the mind of students in both theory and practical application to be self-confident and ethically minded in order to provide accounting personnel that can contribute to the development of accounting practice and the economy at large.

Aim

The aim of this programme is to produce manpower grounded in research and accounting practice for the private and public sectors.  

 Objectives

The objectives of the programme are to:

1. equip students with knowledge and skills needed to present financial statements of organizations, provide information to aid management functions;
2. enable the graduates of Accounting programme, like others within the Faculty of Management Sciences, fit into various sector of the Economy;
3. prepare the graduates to fit into the advanced programmes of M.Sc. M.Phil and Ph.D in Accounting;
4. enable the graduates of B.Sc. Accounting obtain within a shortest period of time, professional qualifications of relevant professional bodies.
